Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new affixes. They can also improve its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types: universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades to gather tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of important items to maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will increase its features. The number of affixes available depends on the type of item it is. For example the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will have only two affixes to choose from and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower success rate.

Engineers may use a level in order to compare the height of the building to an established point, like an existing benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that the buildings are constructed with a high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a very important aspect of the game, and it can increase the damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the level of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

Prior to this, some  upgrade item s were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you could be able to get the stats that were important most to your build more often than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may also be equipped with a special fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are offered in addition to the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on a unit. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending lots of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can offer a quicker route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and progress in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can be of various sizes, contain none at all, or contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.

There are a range of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the stats of the item when compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.

Set items can be upgraded to include special procs that are useful for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level with their tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated appearance.
